As a volunteer championed the HP-Vancouver site work environment, employee needs, and R&D infrastructure as a site-wide liaison to HP Corporate Real Estate. Led highly-complex and emotional site and workplace initiatives, resolved site-wide space utilization challenges, and hosted executive site tours. Served as an advocate, escalation path, and sympathetic ear for employees.- Led the 2010 HP-Vancouver site relocation of 1000+ employees and 550 ksf of office, labs, and infrastructure into a sub-100ksf footprint. Saved hundreds of local jobs through novel office design, delivered site relocation on-time and -budget, and turned employee perceptions from extremely negative to overwhelmingly positive.- Solved extreme office capacity issues with bold decisions leading to the HP-Vancouver expansion into an additional 55 ksf building for 400 people. Engineered innovative electromechanical systems for print quality and reliability. Researched and developed advanced printhead technologies.- Designed a motorless transmission saving hundreds of millions over decades of manufacturing.- Initiated and led a small-team investigation into printer reliability and grew it into a worldwide knowledge center, extending product life by years and saving millions of dollars in warranty cost.- Created boundary-pushing printhead fabrication and micromachining technologies adopted throughout HP’s entire inkjet portfolio contributing to HP’s decades-long market dominance.- Designed the hardware and mechatronics for a novel printer testbed, adopted across multiple sites.- Taught technology courses to hundreds of HP-Corvallis and -Vancouver employees.

Created instrument for the measurement of unburned carbon in powerplant fly ash using IR photoacoustics; received university-wide ISU Research Excellence Award and R&D Magazine Top 100 award for my research.- Performed a feasibility analysis of IR photoacoustics for mine air quality; recognized for responsible research by the US Bureau of Mines.
