Wally is a business owner, consultant, dynamic chef, and community builder. Wally has extensive experience in event production, business leadership, and both for-profit and not-for-profit Board membership. While at Burning Man, Wally developed and managed multiple, wide ranging departments while the event went from a population of 30,000 to 70,000. He created a legacy of collaboration between multiple departments. He spent 18 years in leadership roles, including top level operations management reporting directly to the Board. As Safety Department Manager, he oversaw multiple departments, managing approximately 25 year round staff, 100 seasonal staff, and 1000 volunteers. Co-founder, CEO, and CFO of High Rock Security – a California and Nevada licensed security company supporting events and festivals for the last 16 years – Wally has leads the team with a collaborative approach.Wally is also a culinary school graduate and chef. In 2014, be was brought on as COO for food service venture, Cool Beans. With a focus on promoting sustainable proteins, Cool Beans served food at the Tesla factory in Fremont, California. Wally can quickly see and understand the unseen pain points in an organization, and then create and implement creative solutions that solves these problems. He creates rock solid structures and foundations from creative and aspirational ideas, making them functional, stable, and sustainable into the future.
