I have a passion for making things easy, interesting, and engaging.After spending 32 years in the airline industry, I realized that manuals and company processes weren't only uninteresting in aviation, they were uninteresting everywhere. We live in a world where people will not engage fully with things that are not interesting. In some industries, like the airlines, lack of engagement can result in injury or death. In all industries, lack of engagement results in lower profitability, decreased employee satisfaction, decreased customer satisfaction, and overall malaise. No, thank you. On average, we spend about 50% of our waking hours at work. Sadly, we've become accustomed to the work environments we have - specifically, a work-life that does not excite or rejuvenate us. That’s a tragedy. I am more passionate than ever about ways to engage and excite employees. I've seen firsthand how people's lives change at work when they are engaged and clear on what they are doing. This is the foundation of everything else in a company - not just airlines, but all companies. It's so simple, and it’s neglected because people don’t know they can do it differently.
