I have over 20 years experience working in my area of passion, the conservation of the planet's biodiversity. My goal is to promote national and international biodiversity conservation efforts through research, nonprofit, and educational activities. I work with conservation biologists, educators and environmental leaders in 82 countries by providing them with the equipment they need to conduct their conservation efforts. For example, we get items like binoculars, digital cameras, laptop computers, two-way radios, recording devices, microscopes, GPS, and telemetry equipment to the people using them in the field. It's estimated that the number of people currently using equipment and supplies provided by Idea Wild is close to 7,000. Projects range in cost from $50 to $1,500, with the average amount given to any one project at around $750.We are currently looking to form and strengthen relationships with organizations and individuals with connections to international conservation efforts, be they researchers, equipment suppliers, or potential funders. One thing we are always on the lookout for are people traveling to areas where we work who can deliver equipment for us, or who can bring back from that country a bag full of handicrafts that we can sell in fundraisers.
