Walt Davis is a Partner in the Securities and SEC Enforcement practice in the Atlanta office of Jones Day. His practice focused on complex business litigation, corporate governance and shareholder matters, and internal and governmental investigations. In 2019, Walt was appointed by Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp to start the Georgia State-wide Business Court, after which he served as the Court’s inaugural judge until September 2022.Walt serves as Immediate Past President of the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation and is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta. He is Immediate Past Chair of the Securities and Corporate Litigation Committee of the Atlanta Bar Association; a Master in the Clarke-Carley American Inn of Court; and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Georgia School of Law, teaching Securities Law. He is also a member of Leadership Georgia Class of 2022.Walt previously served on the Leadership Council for Zoo Atlanta, and the Boards of Directors of Make-A-Wish Foundation Georgia and Kate's Club, Inc., and the Alumni Board of Mercer University's College of Liberal Arts. He is also a graduate of Leadership Atlanta, Class of 2018, and LEAD Atlanta, Class of 2007.
