The Heinlein Society exists to preserve the legacy renowned writer Robert Anson Heinlein left us in novels, essays, speeches, and short stories that remain as fresh as ever.We intend in Heinlein’s words to “PAY IT FORWARD,” since we can never pay back the benefits we got from him, by spreading the wisdom of Robert Anson Heinlein to others.The Heinlein Society has established programs to:Promote Heinlein blood drives.Award scholarships to worthy young people.Provide educational materials to teachers and librarians.Promote scholarly research and overall discussion of the works and ideas of Robert Anson Heinlein.Provide copies of Heinlein’s books- and other SF- to members of the military and veterans (Heinlein For Heroes).

In 2014, Spitzer and Boyes LLC acquired The Industrial Automation and Process Control INSIDER, an 18-year old subscription publication, and named Walt Boyes Editor and Publisher. The magazine WAS considered one of the few "must read" publications in the automation field. It ceased publication in A pril 2018. In December 2021, it was revived as a single-topic online newsletter and continues as such.

Editor-in-Chief of CONTROL magazine, and its online resource www.ControlGlobal.com, with over 70,000 subscribers in the process automation field. Control is the largest magazine in process automation, and is unique in its devotion to being the voice of the end user.

Responsible for all editorial activities for award-winning magazine including budget, p&l, hiring and training writers and editors. Reported to the vice president of content. Responsible for being the "face" for the magazine at professional meetings and conferences. Under my direction, Control magazine won numerous awards for editing, writing and art.

Operated as member of the Board of Directors, discussed and voted on matters brought before the Board, advised the staff on strategic matters.

CorgiAid Inc. is a 501C3 Foundation that provides medical and other financial assistance to rescuers of Pembroke and Cardigan Welsh Corgi dogs, and identifiable mixes of those breeds. In 2003, CorgiAid provided assistance to over 80 dogs, allowing them to be adopted instead of being euthanized. In 2008, CorgiAid was honored as Dog Rescue Organization of the Year at the Westminster Dog Show. CorgiAid's website is http://www.corgiaid.org. Walt was a Founder of CorgiAid, and its first CEO.
