After leaving school in 1965 I secured an apprenticeship in John Hinde Limited as a Planner Plate Maker. I served my time there under Roland Baumann who came from Stuttgart Germany to live in Ireland in the early 1960's. Roland passed away a number of years ago and to this day I owe him so much for the start he gave me in this industry. I continued to work in John Hinde Limited after completing my apprenticeship. I went on to manage the Pre Press area for 3 years following Roland's departure in circa 1978. During these 3 years I was responsible for introducing many interesting changes before my departure in 1981. In July 1981, I secured a Technical Sales position with Hoechst Ireland Limited. During my time there I was responsible for developing Plate business in all sectors of the printing industry, reporting to Management locally and in Hoechst Germany. I was also responsible for supporting our Dealer network in the Republic of Ireland, and in Northern Ireland.In late 1995, Agfa announced that they had purchased the Printing Plate Division of Hoechst A.G. in Germany, In January 1996, I transferred my service from Hoechst Ireland Limited to Agfa where I remained until the end of June 2001. In July 2001, I commenced my employment with my current employer Walter Nash & Company Limited in a sales role. I am really enjoying my time here as part of a team dedicated to providing our customers with quality products from leading international suppliers. We also offer our valued customers full technical support and service in all sector's of the printing industry.
