Senior Teen Program Coordinator
Current- Plan and implement youth driven development curriculum designed to support skill enhancement, college and career preparedness, leadership development, and cultural enrichment- Coordinate the after school program, college and career advisory boards, site visits, and family support groups- Coordinate the summer program that each year places around 200 youth participants into lucrative jobs and job training programs at a number of partnership agencies and organizations, based on the participants interest and career goals- Supervise a team of 5 youth development workers- Initiate mental health and foster care services for participants based on individual assessments- Coordinate monthly educational workshops based on the social needs affecting the community. These include: pregnancy prevention, gang awareness, and alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs prevention- Provide academic support to participants by building strong and positive relationships with parents, and school staff- Identify current materials and resources to support and improve the instructional environment - Prepare recurring reports used for the development of grant proposals to organizations and corporations across the U.S.Accomplishments:- Raised the continuous attendance of the after school and summer programs of participants per calendar year- Achieved a participant retention rate of 90% per calendar year since 2010- Developed the Mary’s Center Teen Program to be cultural diverse with an attendance of 50% Hispanic and 50% from different backgrounds (before 90% Hispanic – 10% other backgrounds)- Promoted from Family Support Worker to Senior Teen Program Coordinator in 2011- Achieved a 100% college acceptance rate from all high school senior participants since 2012- Named “2015 Employee of the Year”
