Inspect machined components for power generating turbines including but not limited to packing, valve components, hardware and diaphragms. Assure compliance to all related industry and customer standards. Utilize standard inspection equipment including height gages, hand inspection tools, CMM as well as FPI, MPI and Ultrasonic inspection.

Designed and implemented the Measurement System Analysis (MSA) program in house and at supplier level. Performed training and audits at suppliers to assure timely implementation of their MSA programs. Worked onsite with supplier’s inspection programs including methods as well as gage and fixture design. Developed in-house training programs for inspection and manufacturing personnel on application and use of inspection equipment. Designed inspection fixtures and gages for internal and external suppliers. I was responsible for supporting new product introductions by providing technical analysis of prototype designs for manufacturability as well as providing conformance data for preproduction components. I developed a training program for application of GD&T to ASME Y14.5 in inspection and engineering and consulted on it’s application at our supplier base. I participated in DOE, capability studies and Green belt projects in support of our Six Sigma programs. Set up our in-house gage calibration program (including calibration procedures), performed calibrations as well as managed our third party calibration service. I wrote programs for the Starrett DCC CMM in Apogee and filled in on inspection as needed.

Performed ISIR (First Article), Receiving and Tool Layout Inspection for Diesel Systems and Precision Components Assembly groups. Constructed inspection programs for use on the OGP Smart Scopes, Perthen MMQ40 Roundness Checker and the B&S Validator CMM. Received formal training in the use of Mahr Perthen Finish Analyzer, Zygo Form Measurement System and Starrett DCC CMM’s running Apogee software.

I worked directly with suppliers to determine machine capability for key components critical to new product introductions. Facilitated successful execution of Dock-to-Stock program for several key components. Worked with R&D and Engineering on determination of tolerancing to ANSI Y14.5. Performed 1st article, receiving, inprocess and final inspection. Improved departmental documentation systems. Established a calibration program and assumed metrology responsibilities

Supervised Receiving inspection and Test of heat sinks, laminate, prepreg and foil components for multilayer printed circuit boards. Assisted on implementation of ISO 9000 and Boeing Advanced Quality systems. Performed supplier audits and qualifications.

Responsible for supplier selection, product evaluation, testing and qualification to ensure new products meet quality and regulatory requirements. Principal technical interface for Marketing, Purchasing and suppliers in meeting standards and problem resolution. Performed vendor audits, product audits and returns analysis. Developed quality systems, an organizational staff and budget forecasts.

Managed receiving, inprocess, first article and final inspection for this primary government contractor of weapons systems equipment. Performed vendor selection and qualification, specification review, calibration / gage control and chaired the MRB board. Primary government interface with onsite DCAS representatives and technical advisor to Manufacturing and Purchasing.
