As Project Manager I am responsible for aligning on-site filtration assignments in the broadest sense.In the initial phase of an inquiry I am involved in investigating the feasibility of rectifying an off-spec cargo by means of on-site filtration. I conduct test trials and endurance tests to determine the effect and results of filtration.Prior and during an assignment I maintain a close relationship with various foreign principals, P&I Clubs, cargo surveyors, local ship agencies, terminal and vessel representatives, owners & charterers, transport companies, custom brokers and chemical waste brokers.I am responsible for preparing and implementing the Method Statement/Task Risk Assessment which describes the scope of work and associated risks and responsibilities in the areas of health, safety, environment and quality, taking into account the product characteristics of the product which requires rectification.I attend MOC meetings and conduct site visits to discuss site-specific requirements and make operational agreements. This is to agree on HSE preventive measures that are necessary to obtain permission to carry out the filtration processes on site.Once all parties involved have come to an agreement regarding the implementation of the filtration process, the physical and operational preparations will start:- Checking chemical compatibility and preparing a packing list.- Arranging transportation of equipment incl. preparing documents required for temporary import.- Send ISPS announcements for contractors and operators.- Arranging accommodation and travel documents for operators.- Liaise sample plan with nominated cargo surveyor.- Monitor progress of filtration processes.- Adjusting operational schedule in the most efficient way.- Arranging waste disposal of used / saturated consumables and filter medium in cooperation of local contacts.- Updating project administration, digital time log and settlement after completion.

Once a cargo is contaminated, its value often decreases significantly! With our closely integrated team of technical and qualified staff, it is our intention to provide our customers, the most economical solution of reprocessing a contaminated parcel with our portable equipment on-site!

In 2009, my friend and I quit our jobs and traveled the world for months together. After 6 months of travelling together in Africa, Australia and South America, I continued traveling on my own in South and Central America.In total I’ve been away from home for almost 18 months. During this period I visited 24 countries in 5 continents. Looking back at my travels I believe traveling was one of the best decisions of my life.
