Responsibilities include to:• manage and coordinate the business of Norfolk Safeguarding Adults Board (NSAB) to meet the statutory duties of the board (including for Safeguarding Adults Reviews) and deliver its strategic effectiveness as set out in the Business Plan • support the Independent Chair in their NSAB role• provide key leadership for the delivery of safeguarding adults policy, protocols and practice across the partnership• be the key point of contact and advice on changes in legislation and guidance; to identify strategic issues facing NSAB and draw up and review policies as required• annually review and deliver NSAB’s strategic objectives as set out in the Business Plan and produce an annual report• support and line-manage the NSAB team• collate relevant safeguarding data/trends and making recommendations on action to the board• ensure regular and effective links with local groups and represent NSAB at public meetings and with local, regional and national organisations on safeguarding adult matters • to act as the responsible budget officer for NSAB, provide regular budgetary reports and ensure value for money• ensure that the NSAB website & social media platforms are designed, maintained and updated on a regular basis • actively contribute to the development of effective, integrated working at all levels• advise on service quality and service reviews, and work with partner agencies to contribute to external reviews/audits• initiate, coordinate & deliver NSAB conferences, learning and engagement events.• ensure a high profile for adult safeguarding in Norfolk.I continue to establish a national profile for NSAB, growing links with leading academic colleagues working in the field of safeguarding adults, which has resulted in the board participating in a number of national research projects, include organisational learning from Safeguarding Adults Reviews and homelessness.

NOTE: Service transferred from NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney Community Services on 01 October 2011. Responsibilities included: • providing expert, evidence based clinical leadership on all aspects of the safeguarding adults agenda to the organisation, ensuring that there were systems and processes in place for the protection of vulnerable adults across the organisation’s services while working with partner agencies in line with Department of Health standards and legislation; ensuring the trust’s board were effectively briefed and directed on their statutory safeguarding adult responsibilities• held responsibility for the development and implementation of a Community Services plan for Safeguarding Adults that ensured the contribution to safeguarding was in line with national policy and guidance, consistent across Norfolk & Waveney and co-ordinated with Norfolk & Suffolk County Councils • held the clinical lead for ensuring implementation of appropriate Care Quality Commission core standards, the Mental Capacity Act requirements and other relevant external targets and standards training delivery to the organisation for safeguarding adults, mental capacity and other related training areas
