At Thales Austria I'm responsible for the application engineering and project management of the safety critical interlocking system. In this function my up to 30 direct reports consist of group leaders, project managers and engineers. I'm also coordinating another 15 engineers at our subsidiaries in Hungary and Romania. As a department head I manage the development of people, ensure commitments to project targets and contribute to the continuous improvement of the software engineering process.

In the year 2009 I joined UNIQA IT Services GmbH in the role of a group leader responsible for the developer and technical staff for the back office core insurance systems in Austria. There I guided up to 20 people in Austria and 15 people in Romania, while managing a budget of up to 2 million Euros. From the year 2000 on I was working in the function of the "Chief Software Engineer". There I was responsible for project management, software development and consulting. Those reference projects are mainly used in business areas like Air Traffic Control, Public Safety, Railways, Mobile Communication, development and quality assurance (simulation and testing systems). As a result of the liberation of the telecommunication market in Austria many new companies raised to offer telecommunication and Internet services. The company MCN promised to have an unique selling point by not concentrating on the mass market, but on the business and real estate market. So I have been employed at MCN to establish the technical infrastructure for the Internet business and soon later to become the leading manager for projects and after sales. An unsuccessful strategy shift of the management to service the mass market was the reason for me to move on.

The master thesis ("Simulation tool for a communication system") was in cooperation with the company Frequentis, the world-market leader in safety critical communication solutions, where I was hired as a member of the core team of a new business unit. There I was responsible for the specification of the functionality and the communication protocols for a professional, mobile, digital radio system based on the international standard "TETRA". During my study of computer science at the Technical University of Vienna, I worked part-time at Philips Data and Digital Equipment Cooperation (DEC). There I was responsible for client/server software development for a major company in the financial industry.
