About Walter De Roeck

For the moment I am not available and will be possibly available again for new opportunities starting January 1st, 2026.Are you looking for an experienced interim or freelance IT manager or program/project manager with broad strategic expertise, vision and communication skills at all levels?  In my career I have guided IT professionals specialized in infrastructure, architecture, service desk, application management and (web) development. This merger leads to a huge IT project to bring all IT components of Standaard Uitgeverij and Ballon Media together. The IT components of Standaard Uitgeverij were already migrated to different cloud components while the IT environment of Ballon Media was still a classic on-premise environment. My responsibility is to merge all infrastructure, applications and databases into one totally new efficient and coherent IT environment.

I determined the entire ICT policy & strategy in alignment with the IT budget and the various business units. Together with the ICT team (25 fte) I took care of the implementation of the group-wide ICT objectives and this in the most cost efficient way. All ICT services were established in service level agreements based on ITIL. Important values ​​within my ICT policy are result orientation, transparency, innovation and flexibility.
