Walt jumped straight into the software industry right out of college. 25 years later, with the help of a lot people, he has risen through the ranks to become the CEO of seven successful companies that have realized an aggregate enterprise value of well over $4 billion. Since seeing his first Excel PivotTable in 1994, he has built a career focused around leveraging data, optimizing sales process and hiring great people to build amazing products and companies. He has a clear passion and commitment to only the highest levels of customer experience. He is loud, leads by example, is great with numbers, fun and can often be heard shouting “I LOVE MY JOB”. Walt, currently serves on several boards including Acronis, Ambassador, Juno, Coreview and AnyDesk. He is currently currently Chairman of the Board at Devo, and previously served as CEO of Devo. Devo delivers real-time operational and business insights from analytics on streaming and historical data to operations, IT, security and business teams at the world’s largest organizations. Walt also served as CEO of and Chairman of the Board of LiveAction. Prior to this he led LogicNow and GFI Software from 2008 to 2016 culminating with the sale of the Logicnow business unit to Solarwinds in July 2016, GFI Software business unit to Versata in July of 2015 and the Teamviewer business unit in July 2014. Prior to this he served as the CEO of Acronis where in three years he and his team increased revenues from less than $20 million to over $100 million. He was the CEO of Imceda Software, where he executed a combination of leadership and marketing strategies that resulted in a successful sale of the company to Quest Software. Walter was also instrumental in Embarcadero's successful IPO in 2000. He started his career in sales and marketing roles with Banyan Systems and BMC Software after leaving the US Army. Walter holds a Bachelor's degree in marketing and an MBA from the University of Maine. Walt is married to his college sweetheart and has a great 24-year-old son.
