Current• Serves as a project manager leading IT projects in the OCIO for the Patents business unit at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Coordinates with critical partners to plan and implement software deployments to the production environment. Uses System Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Scrumban) to complete development efforts. • Served as deputy project manager for the Utility Patent Number Expansion (UPNE) project, a major USPTO initiative to expand the patent number field in 51 legacy systems to accommodate the issuance of patent 10 million and beyond. Coordinated with business and technical stakeholders to accomplish this goal. Identified and resolved obstacles so the project could maintain its aggressive deployment schedule. The result was the successful preparation of USPTO systems; patent 10 million issued successfully on June 19, 2018.• Served as deputy project manager for Patent Transfer Inquiry (PTI), a software modernization project impacting the 8,000+ users in the patent examining corps by providing them with an updated tool for initiating application transfers between art units. Employed Agile software development methodologies to successfully deliver a viable product to business stakeholders while maintaining schedule and cost constraints.
