Walter Hart studied civil engineering in Delft, the Netherlands, and has been a patent attorney with EP&C since 2002. Currently Walter is a managing partner at EP&C.Previously he worked for a civil engineering company (Fugro) and as an ICT consultant (CMG). He passed the Dutch Patent exam cum laude in 2005 and succesfully organised several workshops about patenting. Walter is also actively involved in the UPC and the unitary patent.Walter is analytical, enterprising, inventive and passionate. “Simply obtaining a patent is not all that difficult. The art is creating a useful and effective patent. Therefore, as a patent attorney you have to be both a shrewd jurist and an excellent engineer. And since I took in inventing with my mother’s milk, more than anybody else I understand the excitement and insecurities of my clients when they come to me with their idea. They go through an special phase in their professional career, doing everything in their power to make it a success. I get a kick out of helping them.” In his free time, Walter Hart is involved in developing a high speed sailing vessel for attacking the world speed sailing record.
