We identify “Academically disengaged” students; while highly Intelligent, are attracted by money, the opportunity to have a since of belonging, advancement and entrepreneurship offered by “gangs”. Those alternative economy businesses look at prison as the cost of business and as "institutions of higher learning", where relationships, networks and skills are developed that will serve them when they get out.
