Vice President Of Engineering
CurrentAs a multi-state licensed Professional Engineer, I have demonstrated a wide range of engineering expertise across various disciplines. My most recent accomplishments include leading our engineering team's transition to Building Information Modeling (BIM) and driving adoption of designs for on-site EV charging and solar energy production. These efforts have led to the development of Birdsong Phoenix, our first net-zero energy project, and Intrada Westside in Atlanta, both featuring EV charging infrastructure for 20% of parking spaces. Throughout my tenure, I have guided both in-house and external engineering teams to drive the development of affordable housing, student housing, and public-private partnerships, contributing to the successful execution of projects with a combined value approaching $1 billion. In 2018, I strengthened collaborated with Vecino's construction team to find and implement cost-saving measures for our engineering systems, establishing economical design standards and fostering beneficial vendor relationships. This initiative resulted in cost reductions in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems while enhancing energy efficiency. As we progress into 2023, I'm leading the push to explore how emerging AI systems might transform our research and design practices. In the areas of EV readiness and solar energy, I have gained the support of Vecino's various teams—including development, design, construction, creative, and asset management—to push toward inclusion in all new projects. This collaborative effort further solidifies our commitment to the Vecino "gut check". https://www.vecinogroup.com/gut-check/
