Currently I'm self-employed and active in a colorful palate of work fields.With my background as a physicist, I've been active in the Sustainable Energy sector of industry but with Desda I am also involved in the design and realization of electronic systems.Aside of this I'm physics and electronics teacher, student coach, course leader for ProDemos and I teach refugees calculations to prepare them for MBO.I'm regularly asked to share my experience in the (local) politics and government.The knowledge of the 'real hard world' physics and economics, combined with experience in the fascinating world of politics has proven to be ideal.After I graduated in physics in 1994 I started my own company. By that time the focus was on designing and realizing complex, automated, dedicated designed measurement systems.Later I became involved in local politics and I became an Alderman in the city of Utrecht. For a period of five-and-a-half year I was responsible for the big new housing location Leidsche Rijn and the redevelopment of the Utrecht Station Area. In 2006, I joined Econcern, a Dutch company with 'a sustainable energy supply for everyone' as its mission statement. My task was to start up the real estate branch of the daughter company Evelop. Evelop acted as a sustainable project developer.From 2011 till 2016 I was head of the Marine Electronics department of the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ). I led a group of highly experienced and resourceful electronic engineers.Five years ago I also became a graduaded teacher.
