About Walt Monegan

Walt’s father died in the Korean War before he was born. His maternal grandparents raised him in a town called Nyac in bush Alaska. At that time, Nyac was a gold mining community with a population of 54 people and a one room school house.Although he graduated from high school in Washington State, he returned to Anchorage shortly thereafter and aside from brief military service and several jobs in rural Alaska, he’s remained in the Anchorage area ever since.Walt has four grown children spread across the country from Alaska to the east and west coasts. He currently resides in Chugiak with his wife Terry.
