No-cell-phone areas enable concentration, and wellness centers on each floor promote relaxation and recharging. ■ Behr | Irvine, CA225,279 SF facility where research and development are at the heart of this company yet were in the back of the house. The new design places R&D front and center, made visible through interior windows and brightened up with natural light from exterior windows. ■ Orgain | Irvine, CA24,500 SF workplace designed to support the company’s mission of inspiring people to embrace health and wellness. Built-in wellness strategies include stress-reducing natural light, abundant plants, access to nature, and an enormous fitness center complete with a rock-climbing wall. ■ SAP Innovation Center & HanaHaus | Newport Beach, CA16,000 SF project combines a coworking environment open to the public (HanaHaus) and a research and development center for its parent company (SAP Innovation Center). This hybrid innovation center offers professional space for local startups, providing a mix of open seating rented by the hour, private meeting rooms, and large-event space that can be transformed within an hour.
