Walt Sloan is the Chief Financial Officer for Liteband®, maker of a family of wide beam LED headlamps and accessories. Previously he was Head of Finance for Optimal Design, an award-winning product design and development company.Prior to originally joining Optimal Design as a consultant to their Digital Solutions division, Walt was VP of Finance and Business Development for mFrontiers LLC, maker of the mFinity platform for the Internet of Things and Mobile Application Management, which received Oracle Excellence Awards in 2014 for Sustainability Innovation and in 2015 as ISV Cloud Partner of the Year for North America.Walt was VP of Operations for JJL Technologies LLC for twelve years, participating in the development and managing the manufacturing of the VITA Easyshade, a top-selling electronic shade-matching instrument used by dentists and dental laboratories worldwide. During this time he earned fifteen patents.As Systems Development Director for Telaction Corporation, Walt was instrumental in the development of an electronic home shopping system that resulted in a pioneering patent in the field of electronic commerce titled “An Electronic Store.”Walt’s broad consulting experience includes launching start-up businesses, growing development-stage companies, and building new business units for established companies. Over the past thirty years, after initially being retained as a consultant, Walt was hired as an executive by Optimal Design, mFrontiers, JJL Technologies, and Metabolic Technologies. Crain’s Chicago Business wrote about Walt and one of his startup companies, Metabolic Technologies, in an article titled “Entrepreneurs SCOR with Small Offerings.”
