I'm Walusha Fernandes, currently pursuing my degree in Medicine (MBBS) from Goa Medical College, Bambolim, Goa. I'm extremely interested in applied research and development in various aspects of medicine, healthcare and health tech. I'm always open to collaboration on new research projects, and I plan to initiate a few too in my further years of medical school.I’m currently working on a statistical analysis on first-relative satisfaction with the care provided by the newly-established geriatric medicine ward at Goa Medical College and Hospital, under the guidance of HOD Dr Edwin Gomes. Previously, I’ve written case studies and performed survey-based research projects on eye health awareness during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as assisted in the collection of data for a profile study on diabetes under the wing of a well-reputed specialised clinic. My interests include reading sci-fi and crime fiction, writing (I've written two full length crime fiction novels of a 100k+ words which were published online and gained an audience of around 45k organic readers as well as a nomination for a ₹50k writing prize), playing the violin, participating in debates, graphic design, making Discord bots as a hobby, among other things.
