Lifelong Educator, Leadership Innovator, & Social Justice AdvocateWith over a decade of experience in outdoor education, I design transformative learning experiences through wilderness immersion and contemporary leadership development. My leadership philosophy emphasizes collaboration, adaptability, self-awareness, and the holistic development of individuals and teams. I draw on indigenous wisdoms like Ubuntu and Ikigai, believing that leadership is not about a single powerful figure but is guided by a North Star of values that centers the collective experience. My approach is "pew-centric," prioritizing the "ship" and the "shipmates"—focusing on service and the collective strength, imaginations, values, and unique lived experiences of everyone.I co-founded two leadership organizations: ASOLA, an adventure program that supports young adults as they navigate transition to adulthood, and AddVenture Leadership, which equips young African professionals with 21st century skills core to succeeding in the workplace of the future. Additionally, I help organizations drive change from within by asking critical questions that influence meaningful cultural shifts.My intellectual interests center on human development and environmental justice, emphasizing the stewardship of natural and cultural resources and the importance of conservation. I explore social dynamics such as power and values, behavioral ethics, social justice, positive psychology, conflict management, and intercultural competence. I am committed to decolonization and indigenization, advocating for ethical leadership that prioritizes the sustainable stewardship of our natural world.
