Unified Research Computing (provide virtual machine (VM) for researchers using Nutanix Virtualization Technology) e. Campuswide Identity Management (IDM) Services (AD,DNS,DHCP)- Install, configure, and maintain High Performance Computing (HPC) system, network, and software that is running on Red Hat Linux Enteprise 6.5.- Diagnose system operational problems quickly and effectively.- Work closely with users and vendors in supporting HPC environment and resolving hardware and software problems.- Work with vendors to define and implement best practices and standards within the organization.- Tune operating systems and applications to increase performance and reliability of services.- Manage HPC day-to-day operations including downtime, reporting service levels, defining and tracking IT operational metrics, and provide status update to management. Provide Desktop Support- Install and support desktop computers, notebooks and printers in staff and student areas.- Provide technical support and advice on the Monash University Malaysia Standard Operating Environment and services such as web browsers, email, Microsoft Office and Windows XP/Windows 7 operating system.- Ensure that prompt, professional and courteous service is provided and maintained for both personal, telephone and remote desktop support.2.
