I think a lot of potential buyers put off starting the process of qualifying 4 a loan because they r nervous. Embarrassed by their finances. I'd like them 2 know it's kind of like going 2 a Dr. 4 your physical. Dr.'s have seen it all. So have Real Estate loan officers. Nothing surprises them. Buyers can even get qualified on line with a lender of their choice but I highly recommend contacting a lender in the community u live in. These lenders work closely with the Realtors & Appraisers. The process is much easier. When u r working with lenders u find on the Internet, they have no reason 2 work with your Realtor & keep them informed. When u make your call 2 the bank of your choice, just ask 2 visit with a Real Estate loan officer. If u get voice mail, leave a message 4 them to call u. When u r able 2 visit with them, tell them u would like an apt. 2 get per-qualified 4 a real estate loan. Ask what u should bring with u. The lender will ask 4 the last few years of your taxes, pay stubs & info on checking accts., savings, etc. Don't b embarrassed if u don't have any savings. Trust me. U r not the Lone Ranger. Sometimes even people u think have money, don't. If u r a Veteran, tell the lender. U will need your certificate u received upon being discharged. The lender will want 2 know if u r in a probationary period with your job. If u feel u have some credit issues, be up front with the lender. There r so many types of loans now, the lender will find one that works for u. If the lender feels u don't qualify for one at this time, ask what you need 2 do to help u qualify. Do Not make any major purchases after you are qualified. I have seen buyers get pre qualified, go out and purchase a car and then Goodbye house. When u walk out of there, u will know what home price u should b looking 4. Then pre-qual letter in hand, Come c me. We r going House Hunting!!!! Yehhhhhh!!!!

My specialist is definitely Residential Specialist and I know I am bragging but I am very good at what I do. Do I sell the most real estate in Pierre? No. Do I list the most homes in Pierre? No. But I think you would be hard pressed to find one on my clients who would say they were unhappy with me. I have a reputation for going over the top for my buyers and sellers. My colleagues tell me I am foolish to do so but it is who I am. I am an all or nothing person and when buyers are entrusting me to help them find the right home for their family and sellers are wanting me to get their homes sold for the best price in the least amount of time, I take that responsibility seriously. As a result, my buyers and sellers become my friends and I like it that way. Quality supercedes quanity.

Broker AssociateFischer Rounds & Associates Re Apr 2012 - PresentPierreIn 2012 our Broker/Owner, Bob Burke sold Burke & Associates to Fischer Rounds. It was difficult for me at first to comprehend we would no longer go to work in the location we all loved. We would be moving to 125 E. Dakota. Even though we all got along well with everyone working for FR, it was sort of traumatic for me as I had been with Burke so long. I loved the location, my space near the window, all the people who dropped in, the tree outside, all the traffic going by. Basically, everything. I felt sad there would no longer be a Burke RE. BUT, change can be good and we all went with an open mind. FR did everything possible to make us feel welcome. We had new computers, desks, new spaces, etc., etc. The changes have continued since we have been here. All new carpeting, new phone system, Wi-Fi. People have left. Our manager moved and now Bob is our new manager and doing a very good job. Everyone here is wonderful to work with. WE do a good job. Our clients can rest assured everyone working here is looking out for their interests. It's looking up. Change can be good.

Pierre SdBurke & Associates Re Sep 1990 - Apr 2012I started working here in 1990 and loved it. Shan Burke was the Broker for the firm and Doris Holden was the sales manager. Bev Parrott was the office manager. Later Rosemary Kautz was our office manager. I worked with some great people. Many of whom are no longer in RE and some no longer alive. Shan & Mary Burke, Rosemary and Doris are all gone. For years and years, Burke RE was the firm to beat. I know because I was one of those on the outside trying to beat them. Alas, I put up a good fight and then joined them. No regrets. I loved all the windows in the building and being so well located, we always had friends & clients dropping in. I am sure everyone living in Pierre and any new visitors to Pierre, drives by 223 E. Capitol every day. After all, it is on the same street and only a block away from the state Capitol Bldg. Later Bob Burke, nephew of Shan's, joined our firm and eventually purchased the firm and was our managing broker. Bob was a wonderful owner/manager and I loved working for him also. It was with much regret and sadness when Bob sold Burke RE to C-21 Fischer Rounds & Associates and we all moved downtown to our new office at 125 E. Dakota. No longer a Burke RE in Pierre, SD. New Horizons for us all!!!
