*Developed and Implemented Special Project to provide Substance Use Prevention/Intervention Services to “at-risk” and vulnerable students who had multiple barriers to successfully completing high-school. These included sexual exploitation, gang involvement, poverty, substance use, trauma, grief and loss. Responsibilities: *Provided one to one counselling & support to students.*Provided referrals, education, & family support.*Liaised with Department of Youth Protection, Social Workers, Teachers, and other Professionals internally and externally from the Board. *Collected data to present to Council of Commissioners in order to advocate for expansion of services. Services double with addition of full-time Social Work Tech. and Special Project position granted permanent status. *Decrease in expulsions and increase in retention amongst the “higher risk” students on my caseload, as observed, and data supported, by the Director General.*Crisis Management and consultation across the middle and high schools.
