Conduct and analyze adult EEG studies in the neuro ICU, EMU, and outpatient settings

Performed overnight video EEG studies on children and young adults with neurological disorders. Used internal 10-20 system electrodes on Cadwell and Nihon Kohden software while monitoring, evaluating, and mapping physiological and non-physiological artifacts including classifying impressions of ictal andparoxysmal events from EEG/video data.

I lead the organization, development, and implementation of PATHS— intended to improve access and quality care for patients from Prince George’s County living with sickle cell disease (SCD). This two million dollar project was funded by the Maryland Community Health Resources Commission and touched at least 500 lives with SCD through the creation of a new infusion program at University of Maryland Capital Region Health in Largo, MD, the development of a robust pediatric-adult transition program at Children’s National in Washington DC, and helped patients overcome social determinants of health through our work with two community-based organizations, the Maryland Sickle Cell Disease Association and the Association for the Prevention of Sickle Cell Anemia of Harford/Cecil Counties and Eastern Shore.

Delivered 1:1 care to individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, provided therapists with support for more challenging cases, guided providers with their practice, provided psychoeducation to parents, facilitated referrals to other healthcare and educational providers, and worked alongside a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate a collaborative team approach to treatment.

Performed sleep extended, routine and ambulatory electroencephalograms (EEGSs) on patients with neurological and psychiatric disorders.

Studied the neural predictors of well being during the transition to young adulthood in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Performed the Woodcock Johnson Tests of Cognitive Abilities for ASD and typically developing participants.Scored and oversaw the administration of research questionnaires:Beck Anxiety Inventory, Beck Depression Inventory- II, Multidimensional Anxiety Scale II, Screen for Child Anxiety Related Disorders, Social Responsiveness Scale, Vineland Adaptive Behavior.Supervised research in data management.Recruited and worked with research participants (with and without ASD) and their families. Scanned subjects using MRI, fMRI, and EEG methods. Coded resting fMRI eye movement for all subject scans and assessed anatomical MRI quality

Conducted laboratory trials studying the examination of shared attention, spatial perception of sounds, and attention to natural speech from multiple speakers in an anechoic chamber.
