I am currently and contentedly between work opportunities having recently departed from my last employer. Being the ever optimist, I am excited to find my next role fitting into my career plans and positively looking forward to tackling my next and long term adventure! A bit about me...Having grown up in Kamloops, studied in Vancouver, travelled to a few countries, and set up roots on Vancouver Island, I have become an outgoing, understanding, and enthusiastic individual. My diverse background in farming, city living, outdoor adventuring, and compassionate community involvement has brought me to the place I am today! I can attribute my passion for the environment, people and science to the multiple Hope Slide road trips I did with my Geography Professor parents and the constant wonder of how communities evolved with the changing landscape.I am a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) and Agrologist (P.Ag) with over 20 years of experience in the environmental and engineering consulting industry; and 2 years of experience with compliance auditing with provincial regulators. My expertise includes compliance auditing and reviewing/updating/assessing regulatory requirements; as well as reclamation assessments, resource inventories and environmental assessments focusing on terrain/soils and ecosystem impacts. I have 20+ years experience with technical writing and reviews, and team leadership and program management for both individual tasks and multidisciplinary projects.I am an enthusiastic team player driving collaboration efforts with great communication skills and a clear understanding of the importance of being a dedicated, reliable, and loyal team member. I adapt well to changing and high stress situations and enjoy team, client, regulator and public liaison. I am focused on putting my passion and skills to good use by supporting organizations and projects that create environmental, technological, economical and cultural sustainability and awareness. When I'm not working, I like to spend time with my family trying to figure out our permaculture food forest we've started in the front and back yards, getting outside on my bikes and in/on the water, and spending time with friends and family on hikes, skateboard sessions, world travelling, jam nights and BBQs.
