Managed a team of network support specialists in supporting network equipment from small central office location to large call centers. We supported 14 states and over 250 locations. Network equipment includes Cisco and Nortel routers, switches, firewalls, UPS systems and out-of-band access devices.

This position has evolved over the years. It started as overseeing a team of specialists providing NOC systems support. It then changed to LAN/PC support when mainframe terminals were upgraded to LAN based PCs for technicians in Central Offices. I project managed the transition for the 4 outer boroughs of New York City. Before I transitioned to VDS, this position was responsible for all Central Office LANs and PCs for Long Island and the 4 outer boroughs of New York City. This position also inherited several duties from other managers who retired. The New York City Compass team was one such inheritance. This team was responsible for maintaining all CO based test equipment. The position also had administrative duties involving enforcement of safety and quality reports of all team leaders in the NYC/Long Island area. Another administrative duty was acting as the district emergency preparedness coordinator enforcing compliance with Building Emergency Preparedness Plans and exercises.
