Designation is a design firm that focuses on training up process-driven designers. I developed skills in planning and executing deliverables to solve identified problem for users. I improved my user interview and testing techniques. I learned to work and communicate with teammates through each step of my process. I honed leadership skills in planning and leading presentations with my clients:Neopenda is a social enterprise run by Columbia University graduates that created wearable vital signs monitor for ill newborns in low-resource health facilities. I worked to design a user-friendly experience for a centralized interface on a tablet, for nurses and doctors to view status, check historical trends, and receive alerts when a patient is in distress. We developed a thorough testing plan for Neopenda to test with potential users in Uganda. We focused on improving the usability of the tablet interface. Bonzah is an innovative insurance broker startup that offers affordable third-party rental car insurance. We identified strong user mistrust in insurance terms of coverage and needed a way to simply convey coverage through a quick purchasing process. We developed a mobile solution that complements the existing Bonzah website and makes it easy for both new and returning customers to purchase rental car insurance.WeWork provides a global network of shared workspaces and fosters community building. My team collaborated with our local WeWork community managers to create a website that connected WeWork members with local nonprofits.

As a rehab tech, I assisted in complex splint-making procedures by preparing materials and making adjustments. I supervised patients’ exercise programs and maintained exercise equipment to ensure they were up to standard. As a patient services specialist, I multitasked in a high-volume outpatient rehabilitation center by running the receptionist desk. I answered phones, managed patient intake, collected payments, and maintained communication with insurance providers. I gained skills in conversing with a variety of people from different backgrounds and provided excellent customer service.

I created and tracked ongoing project expense reports. I arranged travel itineraries for employees. I tracked, logged, and distributed payroll. I learned the value of project management skills and how to communicate effectively with clients and employees in order to respond to their needs.

I processed thousands of interlibrary lending materials and inputted archival information into the library system for UCSD records. I also prepared library materials for shipping across an international library network. I cross-trained coworkers to better perform daily duties in an effective manner. I established an organized and detailed-oriented work-process and developed communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with staff members.
