I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Southern California, majoring in Biology of Aging, and working as a Research Assistant in Dr. Michael Bonaguidi Lab. I identified myself as a passionate Bioinformatics and Aging Research Scientist with over 9 years of experience driving cutting-edge research and computational innovations in the brain aging field. With expertise in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), and multi-omics data integration, I devote myself to uncovering molecular mechanisms underlying early aging and neural stem cell rejuvenation. I’m always eager to learn and contribute to new projects and I’m excited to continue pushing the boundaries of bioinformatics and molecular biology to make a lasting difference in therapeutic science. Let's connect if you’re interested in collaboration, research opportunities, or just to exchange ideas!

Phd CandidateUsc Leonard Davis School Of Gerontology Jul 2019 - PresentLos Angeles, California, United States• Participated in developing and improving the ROOT (Revealing Origins and Ontological Targets) algorithm pipeline for drug repositioning. The compound prioritized was proven effective in rejuvenating quiescent neural stem cells and improving cognitive function, in vivo and in vitro. Publication is under submission. • Performed comprehensive analysis on unmasking the mechanism and target of the drug prioritized by ROOT. Including integration of external ATAC-seq and Chip-seq dataset analysis and 10x genomic scRNA-seq data analysis on drug-treated/untreated mice hippocampus. Transplanted ROOT pipeline into other compound prediction situations, collaborated with Dr.Cobrinik Lab, Children Hospital of Los Angeles.• Performed 10x genomic scRNA-seq data analysis pipeline, executed downstream analysis on exploring the interaction between air pollution and AD risk with premature aging of neural stem cells. Led undergraduate students to build an interactive shiny app for data visualization for better collaboration with teams with different backgrounds. Grants are successfully funded by NIH. • Synthesized in vivo single-cell lineage tracing and multiple systematic computation approaches, including WGCNA and pseudoage in sc-RNA seq data, demonstrate that exercise enhances neural stem cell (NSC) function, promoting neurogenesis and self-renewal, mitigating early molecular aging, and reducing Alzheimer's disease risk. Co-first autor publication is under submission. • Provided a transcriptomic landscape on mice hippocampus neurogenic niche, focusing on early molecular aging processes and exercise interventions. First-author publication is in preparation.• Analyzed human hippocampus patch-seq data and 10x single-cell RNA-seq data to investigate adult astrogenesis and its role during mesial temporal lobe epilepsy progression. The result was presented in the USC-Buck Biology of Aging Seminar Series. -
Research Assistant In Dr. Pinchas Cohen LabUsc Leonard Davis School Of Gerontology Aug 2019 - May 2020Los Angeles, California, United States• Participating in writing a review of mitochondrial ORF published in Exp. Cell Res, focusing on the genomic and therapeutic potential of peptides derived from mitochondrial ORFs.• Employed data regression models for quantitative measurement of age-related height loss; utilized Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) and polygenic scoring to identify potential gene loci and explore their relationship with aging and other phenotypes.• Conducted GWAS on the mitochondrial genome, identifying SNPs related to human height; isolated relevant mitochondrial peptides and conceptualized in vitro experiments for validation.• Assisted in securing a P01 grant focused on the relationship between Alzheimer's Disease, mitochondria peptide, and diet; responsible for RNA-Seq data exploration and analysis, selected mitochondrial peptides, and designed both in vivo and in vitro experiments to assess their effects on Alzheimer's Disease.• Assistant in COVID-19 mitochondria transcriptome analysis project during COVID, study focused on analyzing the distinctive mitochondrial transcriptomic changes induced by SARS-CoV-2 infection. -
