• Synthesized new polymers for gas chromatography (GC) stationary phase; produced GC columns to meet customers’ requirements; analyzed a wide variety of target compounds in water, food, drugs, gasoline, etc. using EPA, NIOSH or ASTM methods; developed the new applications and other sales materials for the GC columns.• Offered a comprehensive after-sales service for our products: understood application needs of customers and provided resolution to technical issues; participated trade show and presented customer seminar.• Evaluated technicians’ work and controlled testing on products to determine the product performances and the problems in the manufacturing process; wrote and updated inspection procedures, protocol and checklists.

Prepared tubular bacterial cellulose to replace damaged blood vessels in vivo. Characterized porous structures of bacterial cellulose films and regulated their permeability. Studied characteristics of bacterial cellulose films as carriers for sustained-release drug delivery.

Developed experimental designs for student investigations, such that they would be most likely to obtain the desired results. Taught students operational skills in conducting experiments in polymer synthesis and protein separation.

Synthesized and characterized silicate bioceramics for bone or teeth regeneration; tested the effects of powder dissolutions on cell proliferation; studied drug delivery and component analysis of ceramics; measured densities and mechanical properties of Silicate based materials.
