Hang Lu Lab- NSF Graduate Research Fellow- Report and publish scientific findings (5+ papers in Lab on a Chip, Biomicrofluidics, Nature Communications Biology, PLoS Genetics)- Engineer high-throughput microfluidic systems to create assays to quantify gene expression in whole organisms- Create platforms to measure in vivo neuronal health and function - Perform screenings (drug, RNAi, etc.) to study different molecular and genetic pathways- Construct new transgenic strains (C. elegans) using molecular biology techniques- Quantify trajectories of aging using fluorescent microscopy and computational image processing

John Yin Lab- Quantify virus-host cell interactions with a variety of different viruses (e.g. VSV, HRV, ZIKV)- Cell-based assays using conventional mammalian cell lines and primary cells- Develop microfluidic systems to assay and quantify viral spreads in different physical conditions

- Design and perform experiments to quantify antibody-cell interactions- Measure and define antibody activity through fluorescent assays with microscopy, flow cytometry, ELISA, etc. - Maintain cell culture of 10+ cell lines (adherent, suspension, combination, etc.)

- Fabricate micro-silicone products and scale-up initial designs to be compatible with industry-standard tools- Design and propose plans to create portable Class 100,000 cleanrooms to be used in underdeveloped areas
