At CMS as a Healthcare research associate, I was responsible for analysing industry macro trends and company drug pipeline, and company financials. Close daily review and follow-up on several sub-sectors of the Healthcare industry, including Biotech, Pharmaceutical firms, CRO/CMO, and Healthcare service. •Supported R&D pipeline in-depth analysis by researching, and organising and interpreting medical and scientific information •Generated report series to forecast the impact of newly approved medicines (e.g Lecanemab) within disease areas with unmet medical needs (i.e. Alzheimer’s disease), and how varying corporate strategies might impact future business outlook •Attempted to summarise the current landscape of several transformative medicines advanced by novel technologies ( i.e. CAR-T cell therapy) •Published short briefs, R&D commentaries, and in-depth research reports to meet different scientific information delivery needs •Responsible for supporting the construction of company databases by reviewing various sources to gather sufficient materials and data•Served as the research interface for timely updates to sales, trading, management teams, representative customers, and other important internal and external market stakeholders •Responsible to liaise with the investor relations department of the covered companies, and to attend virtual meetings and industry conferences

The postdoctoral research project is part of the SARRF-funded COVID-19 Rapid Response Initiative for multidisciplinary collaborative research. The project aimed for testing the sterilisation ability of a type of UV light, specifically testing the ability of far-UVC light for the effectiveness in inactivating aerosolised viruses. A self- designed virus aerosol chamber was engineered at the BSRC research lab in collaboration between the School of Biology and School of Physics at St Andrews.•Established virus infectivity assays and optimised far-UVC irradiation protocol for surface and airborne viruses; established safety protocol and SOPs for experiments •Tested the efficacy range of far-UVC intensity in inactivating surface influenza virus samples in BSL2 facilities through virology and cell biology techniques •Tested the virus aerosol chamber with influenza samples under a series of light irradiation intensities, and optimised experimental procedure for downstream experiments (e.g real room scale testing) •Responsible for experimental data analysis and presentation to research group and project managers
