Wappa is an ICT company. In general, we focus on Java-based applications, but more specifically we work on web applications and web services. We develop custom-made software for our customers that fits their needs best. Besides Java, we also work intensively with Free and Open Source Software (aka FLOSS). We don't have a problem using commercial software, but FLOSS software is freely available, fast and easy to get hold off. What's more, this software serves our goals and is quick and stable. If we want enhanced functionality, then we can adopt this software according to our own needs. However, the choice of Open Software or not resides completely with our customer. In the past we did already projects based on IBM and Microsoft software.We don't like to implement just a solution for a problem. We take our job serious and go for the solution based on "industry best practices" for the development of web applications. Amongst others, we use the Apache Struts framework that allows us to strictly separate the code with respect to Model, Presentation and Control of the web application. Because of this, bug fixing, extensions, maintenance and scalability of web applications are much easier to be done. Being a small fish in the big IT-sea, we realize we have to swim better and faster in order to survive. That is why we invest a lot in training and education, in order to enrich our expertise on a daily basis.
