The Institute for Materials Research (IMO) is a research centre of Hasselt University with a vast knowledge in the field of materials science. It is the largest research institute of the university with a staff of more than 100 people. IMO is has an integrated and intensive collaboration with IMOMEC (Institute for Materials Research in MicroElectronics) , the associated laboratory of imec (Leuven) at the university campus in Diepenbeek. While most of the more fundamental research is carried out at IMO, the largest part of applied research and projects in collaboration with industry are concentrated within IMOMEC.Specialties: Ward De Ceuninck has been involved in reliability of microelectronics for many years and has published more than 100 papers in literature. He is leading a research group at the Institute of Materials Science (IMO). A very broad range of experimental techniques is avalilable at the labs suchs as electrical characteristaion techniques, reliability investigation equipment and physical as well as chemical analsysis techniques.
