I have many years of experience in printing and prepress production. Printing has held my interest since high school to the point where Johannes Gutenberg and Ben Franklin are a couple of my biggest hero's in life. When I was younger I learned and worked in several press rooms on several types offset presses. Equipment of all sorts have always interested me. When I was a kid, to my parents dismay until I got older and could actually fix things, I took apart everything that could be taken apart. I collect tools and I still repair my own cars, computers, and whatever else can break. I am realistic about stuff and actually buy something new once in a while. My guess is that the printing business is a very good fit for me since there is no shortage of equipment to learn about. In my mid forties, as a hobby, I took up machine embroidery probably because the equipment and processes are pretty involved and complex. I still do embroidery as a hobby, but I did do embroidery exclusively as a business out of my house for nearly ten years. However things go in life, I now work full time for Visual Impressions, in part because I like to work with and share ideas with other people, and self employment can get pretty lonely.
