I am an investor, teacher and entrepreneur. My career has spanned a short-lived legal practice; starting and exiting a pioneering tech-enabled legal services firm; teaching MBA students, law students and incarcerated individuals; investing in promising new businesses; serving on boards and mentoring/advising a handful of entrepreneurs and CEOs. I’ve done a lot of different things and have admittedly arrived at a place full of contradiction - I’m hopeful for the future, but I also have serious concern for the fate of our planet and the people on it. I'm now involved in a handful of things that form part of an ecosystem that seeks to accelerate technology and business model solutions to critical social and environmental problems. I do not believe business and technology is the only answer, but it is a tool we can use to help us achieve sustained habitability. Besides, building a business can also be a heck of a lot of fun with the right group of people and provide extraordinarily rich learning experiences.Beyond business, I'm passionate about getting outdoors in a variety of ways that usually involve kids, a backpack, sticks, marshmallows, graham crackers and plenty of chocolate bars.
