Management of the warehousing and distribution organisation of GSK Biologicals in Belgium, including a network of 7 warehouses, a team of 200+ managers and operators, a fleet of 25 vehicles, and a multi-million euro budget, ensuring timely supply of raw materials and semi-finished products to the GSK production sites in Belgium and abroad.Responsibilities/achievements include:• Management of 7 multi-temperature warehouses, containing raw materials to finished products, and a fleet of inter/intra-site vehicles• Organisation re-modeled, delivering service improvement and implementing customer SLAs• Reduced non-compliance to industry/FDA standards by 90%• Brought training levels up to standard (25% improvement achieved)• Business Owner for design and definition of SAP WM

Management of operational standards, including policy, procedure, service data, and ISO 9000/14000. Setting best-practice processing standards for the EU region, providing training where required, and driving compliance in 31countries.Responsibilities/achievements included:• Global Standard Operating Procedures defined and implemented in all 31 EU countries• Control of the process standards of DHL Express Europe, ensuring best-practice, coordinating knowledge transfer across the region, and driving high levels of compliance in all EU countries.• Quality Management System created for the EU business, and ISO 9000 and 14000 retained and expanded for the European operational organisation.• Controlled central data, and related databases, to provide accurate service data across Europe.

Responsibility for the integration of two European road networks; DHL's European road-based network and that ofDeutsche Post EuroExpress (following the acquisition of DHL by Deutsche Post WorldNet of DHL).Responsibilities/achievements included:• Met the four month deadline for commencement of combined operations, having implemented best practice, obtained local agreements, and documenting ground rules for the business.• Supported a restructuring process; developing joint procedures for Operations, Customer Service, Finance & Billing, Resource Management and Branding, and combining two operational IT infrastructures.

Sole ownership of a regional programme aimed at the optimisation of a 100m budget.Responsibilities/achievements included:• Negotiation and implementation of a reduction from 31 suppliers to a preferred supplier agreement, this in the area of vehicle leasing and vehicle procurement.• €1m+ saving secured through regional procurement deal for company uniforms• Creation of a European Fleet Policy, with a fully integrated Audit Programme.• Optimisation of process efficiency through the standardisation and customisation of the fleet.
