I was hired to plan and implement the IT organization, including the team, systems, and processes. I reported to the CEO/CFO in Denmark. I ensured compliance with SOX and GxP regulations. I created and executed strategies to modernize the infrastructure (migrate on-premise systems to cloud/SaaS solutions) and minimize cybersecurity risk. I led an IT team of 10 and managed a ~$5M annual budget. I served as a Chair of the IT Committee and a vital member of the U.S. and Commercial Leadership teams. Past successes:❖Designed an IT organization ideal for a commercial-phase company. Transformed the IT department from a 100% support-focused operation to one offering business partnership services to the rest of the company. Upgraded the skills of the infrastructure team to enable them to support complex systems. ❖Achieved SOX compliance within 3 months of hire, resolving material weaknesses identified by auditors. Revised the IT processes to align with controls; trained the IT team involved with controls performance.❖Worked with the QA team to enhance the system validation program (including the creation of new SOPs and system qualification/requalification).❖Led the on-time implementation of systems required to support the company’s launch of its 1st commercial drug. Conducted a technical and architectural review of systems being integrated, identifying and executing the most effective means of implementation.❖Initiated projects to retire or migrate on-premise systems that were obsolete or soon-to-be obsolete. Reviewed all systems for technology-business fit, leading to the elimination of unsupported/risky systems.❖Created visibility for the leadership team on the cyber risk impacting the company and initiated a remediation plan to address/mitigate all risk.

I was brought on board to prepare the IT infrastructure for the company’s first commercial drug launch, along with providing organizational guidance as a member of the Executive Leadership Team. I led and coached a team of direct reports, overseeing ~25 total IT employees and consultants, and planned and administered a $20M annual budget. I drove the development of the technology strategy and the implementation of associated technical capabilities. My accomplishments include:❖Completely transformed IT from a limited operation to a full-capability technology organization supporting over 200 R&D, Commercial, and G&A team members across 2 sites, including implementing new systems and upgrading/replacing legacy technology.❖Achieved SOX compliance. Worked with auditors to implement appropriate controls; updated IT processes for full alignment.❖Enabled fulfillment of GxP compliance requirements by initiating a system validation program that included the development of new SOPs and systems qualification/requalification.

I was appointed to this leadership role to direct spinoff planning activities for IT across the Commercial, Public Affairs, and Compliance departments. I planned the future-state business and technical architecture. Key highlights:❖Formed solid partnerships with business teams to develop Day One functional and IT plans for the spinoff company Bioverativ, including definition and initiation of projects for Day One readiness.❖Identified the required IT activities and associated costs for the Transition Services Agreements between Biogen and Bioverativ, including drafting of agreement provisions.

I led a large group of technical team members (40+ employees and over 400 contractors) assigned to multiple projects, systems, and areas across the company on a global scale. I managed an annual operating budget of $10M and project budgets exceeding $25M. I am proud to have:❖Contributed to the establishment of a pioneering organization within Biogen as a member of the Global Application Management Design Team – the first global, IT-wide, application architecture, development, configuration, and support organization in company history.❖Established and led the Line of Technology Design and Development teams, including application architecture and development for custom development, Business Intelligence, Middleware & Integration, Digital Marketing, SharePoint, Salesforce, and Veeva.❖Reduced the cost of projects and enabled more timely access to external specialty resources through developing and implementing a Managed Services strategy.❖Completed an extensive number of projects within a 3-year period in the midst of the company’s busiest commercial product launch period in its history.

I led, coached, and mentored a team that included 20-30 architects, developers, project managers, and business analysts. Notably, I:❖Drove consistent delivery of impactful and innovative solutions that met and exceeded R&D business goals, including establishing and managing the first-ever shared IT solutions delivery and project management service for R&D.❖Partnered with Regulatory leaders to ensure on-time completion of key IT projects, serving as the Interim Functional Lead for Regulatory and Biostatistics during the critical pre-submission period for new Hemophilia products.❖Co-led a Business Capability Assessment initiative that produced the Business Transformation Roadmap for the Development Sciences organization.
