I loved this job back in 2014-2015 and I came back 2 years later. I'm currently the Scrum Master for 5 cross-functional software delivery teams (named after Gladiators from the TV show in the 90s); delivering features for all Global's Digital platforms; including Global Player, all brand websites, mobile applications and smart speakers used by more than 36 million people every week.I also provide support for project management for all things that the Digital department do (check out my projects list below)The day to day work includes ensuring the Product Owners are able to prioritise their backlogs effectively, and coaching the scrum teams to deliver the software in the best possible way; whilst ensuring it is a fun and sustainable process for as many people as possible. I'm also responsible for ensuring that management are kept up to date with progress via the use of dynamic roadmaps; and appropriate levels of communication.I've spent a lot of effort creating fully cross-functional 'Spotify style' (but with a Global flavour) feature based delivery teams comprising of POs, front end, back end, iOS, Android developers, with QA and design/UX included as well. A great, and very rewarding challenge.

I headed up a London based ETD ARC product which provided key core business and regulatory reports with data aggregated against a business hierarchy in real time.My extensive knowledge of RANsys reporting was utilised to design new reports and replacements for legacy and regulatory reports; for example the EMIR Trade Repository and the next generation client statement. In addition to this I focus on how ARC interacts with RANsys during the intraday and overnight batch processes, XTP via the ION bus and other external systems via the JDBC API.I have extensive knowledge of the ARC Common Data Model, ARC explorer, ARC Application Manager, Report Server GUI (and it’s replacement), daily maintenance of an ARC system and all reports that are currently produced via ARC; this includes reports such as the GCM, CFTCLTR, MARHOST and FSATRAN reports.

I worked with all aspects of the RANsys product, my main responsibilities included working with customers internally and externally to identify bespoke and strategic enhancements, identifying bugs in the system and signing off monthly regression differences. I ran simultaneous projects across multiple software development teams whilst ensuring that team members remained focused, motivated and developed high quality software within agreed timescales. I started to implement a more agile software development approach using Scrum before I moved to the ETD ARC product.I was involved in all regulatory and strategic changes made to the RANsys product, such as the yearly EUREX releases, integration with the Fees Module, contract valuation, power contracts and many more.

My role was to run a software development team specifically formulated to respond to bespoke development requests. This allowed me to experience a large variety of projects spanning the entire RANsys system. It involved liaising with clients to help identify the correct requirements and designing and implementing solutions that actually solved a problem for our users. I analysed and streamlined all processes within the bespoke software department to offer a better service to our customers. I was also given the role as the single point of contact for Uniface, a user interface development tool within the company.

I joined Rolfe and Nolan as a graduate software developer primarily working with the BASIC language on HP ALPHA servers and Uniface. I quickly progressed to an experienced and reliable developer for the applications team. The most significant piece of software I designed and developed was the FSA TRS report, used daily by multiple tier one clients to report trading activity to the FSA.
