I serve as Dean of the Sue & Radcliffe Killam Library at Texas A&M International University. I'm adept at managing multiple funding strings with conflicting restrictions, generating consensus across programs, and finding creative ways for the Library to partner with academic programs, campus partners, student groups, and community entities. Managing cross-functional teams in service to student success is a favorite challenge of mine, and fostering a healthy workplace is central to my practice and current research agenda. I enjoy building connections between students, campus, community, and collections. Significant professional honors include being named an ALA Emerging Leader, and the honor of being named winner of the American Library Association's Jesse H. Shera Award for Distinguished Published Research. My previous positions include:Head of Instruction, Engagement, & Assessment, tenured Associate Librarian, CalState Channel IslandsDigital & Data Services Librarian, California State University Channel IslandsInformation Literacy Coordinator, California State University Channel IslandsHead of Access Services, Univ, of TN at ChattanoogaAssociate Head of Access Services, North Carolina State UniversityReference & Instruction Librarian, Univ, of TN at ChattanoogaAs a poet, I am a three-time Pushcart Prize nominee whose books include God in My Throat: The Lilith Poems (Bellowing Ark, 2009), These Terrible Sacraments (Bellowing Ark, 2010; Doubleback Books, 2019), and The Kentucky Vein (Punkin House, 2011), the chapbooks That Reckless Sound and Some Assembly Required out of Porkbelly Press, and I co-edited Women Versed in Myth: Essays on Modern Women Poets (McFarland, 2016) and Women on Poetry; Writing, Revising, Publishing, and Teaching (McFarland, 2012).
