Senior Instructor for "Assistance to Aircraft Accident Victims and Families." This ICAO Global Aviation Training course provides CAA representatives, other government officials, aircraft and airport operators and non-governmental organization with the competencies to effectively support aircraft accident victims and their family assistance efforts, in accordance with ICAO Policy on Assistance to Aircraft Accident Victims and their Families (Doc. 9998), and the ICAO Manual on Assistance to Aircraft Accident Victims and their Families (Doc 9973).

Designed and instructed courses in Airline Emergency Planning & Response and Aviation Disaster Family Assistance. Courses delivered both in-company and at IATA Training Centers worldwide.

Representative to the industry group responsible for evaluating all aspects of emergency response planning and family assistance, establishing industry standards and developing best practices. Served as an elected steering committee member; co-chaired the 2004 IATA International Crisis Management Conference.

Architect and director of emergency response program for Alaska Airlines (10,000 employees) and Horizon Air (4,000 employees), designing and implementing plans, training, procedures, and exercises. Guided development of family assistance procedures and training for all public contact employees, including airports and reservations staff; led recruitment and training of over 800 employee volunteers for the CARE humanitarian team. Coordinated with company executives and U.S. National Transportation Safety Board officials following the AS261 accident to ensure an effective, immediate and compassionate response.

Responsible for public relations, corporate donations, and emergency response planning. Refined and maintained the company’s crisis communications plan and wrote the company’s federally-required Family Assistance Plan for aviation disasters; recruited team members and coordinated training to fulfill family assistance responsibilities.
