Everyone, at some point in their lifetime, comes to a point where they have a choice to make. For me, this came very early in my college career when I took the plunge into the business world and I haven't looked back. Over the past few years as an undergraduate student in accounting, I have learned more than I ever could have imagined both in the classroom and in the real world. Despite occasional setbacks and trials, this has been the best opportunity I could have ever asked for and has helped me acquire skills that will help me to be successful in the business world such as financial literacy, Microsoft office experience, and business ethics. A statement that has always stuck with me is that it's not what someone else can do for you, but what you can do for someone else that makes you valuable. I have been blessed to work for my parents running cows for the majority of my life and thus have had a multitude of skills instilled into me. From learning to work until the job is done, to realizing that someone else always has something that they can teach you, to the true meaning of loyalty and being a better person every day, these skills are what I believe set me apart.AA lifelong goal growing up for me was always to wrestle for the University of Wyoming Cowboys. Accomplishing this goal has taken a high amount of discipline, hard work, and a willingness to learn. The only problem is that no one seems to warn you about how demanding it can be to be a division one student athlete. Throughout a few tough semesters to start out my career, I have been blessed to learn how important it is to be efficient with time management which is still a work in progress for me. Wrestling here has also granted me with the opportunity to create brand new relationships with my team, coaches, and support staff and has taught me how to be a more effective communicator and leader.All in all, I believe that my experiences have been a blessing for me and have helped build both my character and my skills that are essential for being successful in any position. As I begin to transition and take a step forward into the next chapter of my life, I will be looking for internship opportunities in both the accounting and banking world that will help me to continue to learn and grow in my professional skills.
