As a corporate strategy, U.S.I expanded her product lines towards the underwater-integrated sensor systems. I assisted in the start up of the new company SPG, which catered with the special design needs of both military and commercial marine engineering.The position comprised of Design/Development, Test/inspection, customer liaison, arranging sales, commercial work, and demonstrations. I organized and represented the company at several world wide trade shows e.g. Oceans 95, 96, Annual Long Beach Boat Show 95, 96, Oceanology International 95, 96.I managed and built the prototype / production of several products ranging from forward and side scanning sonar systems, underwater welding machines designed for Broco, USA, Saber radio water proofing modification kits designed for the US Navel forces, various sensor systems for the Turkish Navy, fiber optic cable assemblies designed and built for Wilson House USA. Underwater power distribution junction box's - various product developments such as; two man submarine driver controls / power safety units in a flooded commercial submarine designed for SeAmagine Claremont USA.I acquired a unique and in-depth knowledge of the technologies involved, which includes water proof connector design/manufacture, various Epoxy resin mixtures for different water proofing applications, transducer manufacture, polyurethane potting of arrays and hydrophones, thermal printer technology, high voltage capacitor discharge analog systems, analog amplifiers, analog processing, digital signal processing, including computer interfaces, data logging and global positioning by satellite interfacing, design and build of test gear, generating documentation using Word, Circuit layout using Orcad, Mechanical drawings using AutoCAD, Sales literature using Coral Draw/ Photoshop.

For two years I gained a wide range of knowledge and skills in mechanical design, assembly and electronics, ranging from commercial to defence chassis wiring, printed circuit board design, assembly and testing, computer aided design of wiring and circuit diagrams.I ended up managing the production of a side scan sonar system, including the handling of orders, the procurement of components and maintenance of stock levels, manufacture, test and inspection. The role also included customer liaison, arranging demonstrations and on-site maintenance visits.

A two-year training apprenticeship was given to me on the maintenance and repair of IBM, Amstrad, Atari, Acorn and Citizen computer products, which included both component and modular level repairs.I attended customer service courses; I also attended maintenance and software courses for the IBM PC, Atari, Acorn and Citizen Product ranges.
