Contracting as IT Technician

Primary responsibility was the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of the 100 Solaris/Linux servers in the R&D labs. Principle architect, consultant and procurer for servers and peripherals.

I was the part time weekend day Linux System Administrator responsible for monitoring and being the first/second tier support for 60+ RedHat Centos systems. Responsible for escalating to correct third party vendors (producers, designers, programmers, testers, etc) for those identified issues.

Designed and configured the system and network monitoring application Nagios from scratch for the infrastructure as well as for many of the labs. Project Lead for a team of four to decommission two huge labs of 22,000 square feet and many thousands of systems and network equipment.Had three months to complete the assignment and finished early despite unforeseen technical and logistical issues.Had my contract extended another three months to assist in building out a new lab and moving into storage tons of equipment.
