Torex had designed a clinical database system, System 6000, it was my job to ensure the smooth migration of the surgeries previous database system, to System 6000, including the configuration and upgrading of hardware and software.I worked around the Country, to a time scale of two to three days per job and there was a lot of communication between the customers and myself.While at Torex Health Limited, when in the workshop, I was given a lot of pre-release software, as I could set up a live system and run quality and compatibility testing.As the software was still in development the rules and procedures were regularly updated by Software Development and the Migration Team. I gained valuable experience in UNIX and TCP/IP networking.

This employment involved configuring systems with hardware and software and installing to customer specifications. This could have involved anything from installing software and hardware, to setting up dumb networks. The job involved traveling to customer sites to install the machines and instructing on their use. In this position my knowledge of DOS and Windows enhanced dramatically.
