Started as a Health economist but was promoted to Senior Health Economist in 2013 and Senior Director in 2015. Led the development, design, sale and implementation of innovative health economics and policy research projects in numerous disease areas for Pharmaceutical & Biotech companies, and patient advocacy groups. Responsible for team that sold and executed anywhere between 10-15 projects per year generating annual revenue of around $3-5 million. Some of the most high profile studies include:• Using real-world data showed cancer drugs had a falling cost per life-year up to 8 years after their launch, strongly suggesting the existence of learning-by-doing in healthcare. This research suggests both that current value assessment methods do not reflect longer-term value of technologies and that reimbursement decisions based on these data could significantly undervalue new drugs• Developed a model to estimate the effects of HCV drug on patients on liver transplant waiting lists. The study showed that aside from benefits accrued directly to HCV patients, ultimately thousands of other non-HCV patients benefited from shorter waiting lists for liver transplants.

Founded and managed boutique research consultancy that employed highly qualified subject matter experts across academia from Europe, the US and Africa. Undertook projects for various international global health stakeholders on several studies related to health systems, financing and service delivery. Some examples include: • Implementation plan for the World Bank’s HIV/AIDS rapid response project in West Africa; • Research and implementation program to expand the use of rapid diagnostics and home based therapy for malaria in 16 countries in Africa and Asia for the Gates Foundation • Development of a suite of user-friendly economic and epidemiological models to evaluate health policies and innovations in health care delivery for USAID.

Developed new program of research at MRC Tropical Disease Research Institute in the Gambia; Starting alone, grew staff to 14 over length of program. Set the research agenda for the unit with studies on the economics of adolescent vaccination in resource poor settings; the role of the private sector in the sustainability of bed-net compliance, and drug resistance in antiretroviral therapy. Supervised four doctoral students to successful completion of their PhD.
