Full-time, on-site consultant working in conjunction with the Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator; this was a temporary position. I led safety initiatives while strengthening environmental knowledge. I managed the safety committee, tracked incident rates, and created new written safety programs, including cranes, electrical safe work practices, and chrome. I performed safety trainings. I created a training calendar and oversaw training scheduling and documentation. Performed weekly hazardous waste inspections. I was trained as an ISO internal auditor and participated in a three-day ISO recertification audit.

Enhanced safety practices by working with management and shift coaches to implement new/revised safety procedures within the facility. Created 100+ equipment-specific lockout instructions, including labeling all lockout points. I played a main role (along with the plant's current Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator and Training Coordinator) in creating and presenting a new lockout tagout training to include a pre and post test, applicable activities to test knowledge, and PowerPoint content from the updated lockout tagout program. I participated in an ISO 14001 third-party surveillance audit. I also worked with safety committee members to improve the work environment, such as adding additional fire extinguishers and eye wash stations through inspection programs. I was a project coordinator with an outside contracting service to conduct Job Hazard Analyses.

Created a training for supervisors to implement with the employees on the new lockout instructions. Working with the on-site Environmental Health and Safety Manager, I also participated on the safety committee, conducted weekly hazardous waste inspections, and updated SDS in the MSDSOnline system. Additionally, I worked with the Quality Department to assist with updating the document control system due to a recent logo change.
